Headlight washers?

  182
Got my 182 with the bacl headlamp washers but they do absolutely nothing and i think they just ugly up the front bumper.

How easy is it to change to the covers or even remove and get smoothed over?
Any ideas

You can get the genuine Renault blanking plates from a dealer...

You'll just need a mortgage to pay for them, ridiculously expensive about £70 IIRC

Think some people fit grommets - but they're rubber so not sure how they'd look, not paintable.

Are the holes circular, and what diameter?

I was thinking you could try googling 'Plastic hole covers' or the like. Can see it being a bit tedious but there'll be all sorts out there for electrical, furniture, whatever - you may get lucky and find something ideal, dirt cheap (or you may waste a lot of time.)

Smoothed over and painted would obviously look best - bit too permanent for my liking though.

just remove the washers, blank the pipes off, buy rubber grommets from halfords or local motor store for about 99p. job done! looks better, no more leaking and no more spraying on a clean car! i have had no trouble with mot either. much cheaper than buying cup blanks.

I was expecting there to be massive holes left behind in the bumper, didn't know they were that small.

Rubber grommets fine for a black car, but other colours - not sure.

Might not be hard to find plastic ones that small - therefore, hopefully, paintable.

Imo they look better than the Renault items - far more discreet.

they do look alot better than the renault ones, but yeah got o blue car so would need to get them painted to match!

but if youve got HID`s you have to have front washers for MOT, despite them been s**te.

Headlamp wash must be fitted to the vehicle at the point of build but there is no check for washers on an MOT.

Same way cars after 1992 (IIRC) had to have a cat fitted but there is no physical check for a cat on the car, so long as you pass the emmissions test it's all good.

yeah i think they are about 20mm. i just bought a few and tried different ones in the holes. i ended up with dome top ones too so it looks flush and smooth. black grommets will looj fine on any colour car imo, the washer jets are black anyway, and the r26r somes with black grommets just like mine.
