Headphone Amplifer !?!

So does anyone use a headphone amp?

If so, then what makes should i go for?

what purpose are you using it for.. home entertainment system or more on the go with an ipod etc??

It's for home use Martin.
At the moment I'm just using them with my home pc.

Ooh I see its just I was thinking sometime of getting something to listen to on the move. Like a small mini amp something the size of like an iPhone/iPod. Although not as slim but you get the idea of size I mean

Yes I get the idear mate, my headphones are 250 ohms so even with the sub woofer set up I use on my pc it isn't loud enough.
I plugged them into my tv surround sound amp and they where perfect.

Obviously im not in the market to be spending crazy amounts but a few hundred should be fine, ill give him a call and see if he can help.

Schiit - The low end models should be good. Else get the ones with the tubes.
Loads of other makes out there. See headfi forums and website.
Inbuilt to your PC - Asus Xonar STX. Ive got this and its mediocre, would prefer a proper amp/dac. Easily powers most cans. But the quality isn't that great.
