I am going to be picking up some cans in the next few weeks for my MP3 controller so I can actually use them for monitoring the mixing.

Very tempted by the pioneer HDJ 1000's

You may well like them but I'd avoid the HD1000s, I hated them. For DJing I'd vote for a set of Sony 7506s or Senn HD25s.

Hd 25 i wouldt recommend for dj'ing. They aren't very robust.

Seriously? I had a pair for about 6 years, then I lent them to my housemate and he left them at Uni. Everything on them is pretty easy to replace too.

Sorry. The cable isnt very robust. But yes easy to replace.
