Headunit - 6x9’s + amp!

  Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2

Hi guys n gals,

In my Cup I have a Pioneer DEH 77mp head unit, really nice it is. And have just aquired a pair of pioneer 6x9s. Nice ones as well. As well as a little Alpine amp.

Now.. if I post up some details of the makes and models of my equipment would someone be so kind as to tell me how to work it out!

I think i want to run my 6x9s from my amp - and keep my standard speakers running from my head unit.

Any help/advice appreciated.

Si.

Sounds like youve got much the same stuff as me in there mate, Ive got a slightly older pioneer HU, replaced the front speakers with Emotion pioneer ones, the rear passenger section has more bass heavy Extreme pioneers (both sets 13s) and Ive got some pioneer Extreme 6x9 (TS-A6910) in a acoustic stealth shelf running on a small alpine amp.

I found the HU provides enough power for both sets of 13s, although some tweaking of the EQ was necessary, the amp really makes a depth of sound through the shelf too, so provided yours are up to taking the power Id use them with the amp.

Personally I would do it the other way round. Get some sweet front speakers with your amp runnin them then use your HU to run the 6x9s for some rear fill.

If you choose your fronts carefully they will be louder than most 6x9s ever will be and be clearer aswell. And you wont need to change them for years!
