also the clock display stays lit all the time is this normal (even after the doors are locked)

something is very wrong

Got the 2 live wires the correct way round? French cars seem to be arse about face.

I.e Swich wire and perm live. try swapping the bullet connecters

maybe there is a seting in the menus to change this try looking in the manual to see if it is mentioned

if not it may be a faulty unit ?

right, fiat puntos are the same, its something to do with the ignition/remote turn on (whatever you want to call it) but sadly, i have yet to figure out why it does it

basically there is no quick fix, so is something you may just have to accept

as for the display, thats just wrong, did it happen before the new unit was installed??

Haha my mate had a bit of a problem like that. Only worse, he could turn the key off and take it out and the car carried on running. he had some of the wires wrong, sorry doesnt help you but i thought it was funny.

Thats just weird. I would take it out and make sure everything is working right (or not) then start again. Meter up the wires as well so you know for definate which one is switchable rather than just trying all combinations cos as someone said sometimes they are arse about face.
