headunit question

when i purchased my clio it only had a tape player head unit in it so i put a sony cd player in and now the controls on the steering wheel dont work. i thought it would happen but is there away round this ? is there a cd player i can buy where the steering wheel controls will still work on it ? or should i buy a standard clio cd player ?
