headwork prices & gains

looking for some info on headwork for a 1.2 16v, prices and what gains can be expected.

i assume i would need (or would be recommended) to get a remap, can you remap the standard 1.2 16v ECU?

just looking for ideas for throwing more money at the thing lol

The cost of PROPER headwork might be prohibitive.

You wont get much change from £600 for something that someone can show actual flow gains on, plus you'll need fitting, gaskets, cambelt and your remap etc.

And at the end of that, you probably wont see more than a few bhp gain because its a 1.2 that is still suffocated by the std type inlet manfiold and cams which wont make use of the flow increase at higher lifts.

ohh a reply from the master himself!! ;)

hmm not as simple as i thought then, is there anything that can be done with that stupid plastic inlet manifold as ive read there is BIG room for improvement.

plastic leaves no room to improve as its very thin.

headwork will see a minor gain as the 1.2 head is a pretty piss poor casting and design, but agian, its alot of money for a 1.2.....and i wouldnt do it without cams.

And at the end of the day, were talking about a 1.2 with a shed load of money and not that much power in the grand scheme of things.

I'd rather spend the money and put the head on the mantle peice when done lol.

  Tangoed Works
Only cause it aint turboed though! Look at the old GTT, get like 30bhp from a £20 bleed valve. Mite not last that long though with out intercooler strapping and the like, but still you get the idea. Would love to race a VXR or ST in this searing 30 degree plus heat LOL
