Heater Blower

Hi all

I have had a few problems with my heater blower. First I could not control it (e.g) could no increase the rate of air flow. Then it was on full blast, now no air is coming out and also a puff of white smoke came out of the vents in the dash! Have a fried the motor and is the resistor shot?
