Heating Issue

  Mazda3 2.2D 185BHP
Hey

Got my car back from SRS today, Seems my Non heating issue is due to the flap motor not getting told what to do. They first thought it was down to the control panel but they tried a working one and it didn't work again.

I have watched the motor when I try to get from hot to cold and indeed it doesn't move a milimeter.
I turned the Motor and it does turn (albeit very stiff).

The chaps at SRS said they plugged it into their computer and it throws out a bunch of odd information (no more detail into that) and they feel its a more in-depth electrical issue and I need to take it back for a good few hours to diagnose the problem. I'm not too fussed with this but I wont be able to get it to them for 7 weeks due to work (work in a school so get summer off).

Does anyone have any ideas on this issue? Anything to look into? some sorta manual flap mover i can make? < (getting silly now)

I'm not against buying a new motor and seeing if it is indeed a dead motor, or I could simply plug it into a 12V battery and see if it moves (will that work?)...

Any help will be appreciated.

After doing a forum search i have seen that there have been many people with this type of issue but my motor is actually broken it seems. No one else looks to have had this issue?

Ok Update for updates sake.

Took both motors off, Pluged them in and watched what they do.

The One thats supposedly broken (has been unplugged for weeks as its broken?) Does actually move, But ONLY when you turn the ignition on. try and change the temp after and nowt happens.
So...
Put temp on 26C Restart car the motor moves.
Turn back to 16C its not moving.
Turn off car and back on and the motor moves the other way.
Back to 26c and nothing again untill i restart the car.

So it DOES work, But now i have the problem where the Cogs dont line up with the holes and i have no idea if forcing the servos back to correct place will break something. :/

More updates.. If no one is reading now they may in the future so its all good :)

After looking at some pics online of what these motors should look like i noticed that the Motor was incorrect.. Here are some pics:

Those two grey things are supposed to be on the motor to stop it moving from its place... I will be repairing these and putting it back in and hopefully i will have a nice update for you all soon.
Whilst im in there i will add a zip tie to each cog hole to stop any future stripping like others have had.
Still no clue on the motor stopping after first move, But that may be because the engine was off and it had no temp change to need to move it.

So.
All back together.
Problem that's left is that to change from hot to cold I have to restart the engine.

Does anyone have any idea why it's doing this? If I try and change from hot to cold with the engine running the motor will attempt to move and then stop. I can tell this by feeling it.

Would the internal temp sensor cause this effect?

Its WORKING

Found the missing Sensor in the glove box, Plugged it in and found why it was removed.. It was BUZZY.
So cleaned it up and put some wd40 on the motor pin and now its silent and the flap moves :D
