Heavy, sticky throttle.

The throttle pedal on my '01 172 is heavy and difficult to modulate, is this normal?

The cable is ok and if I play with the mechanism under the bonnet the operation is smooth but heavy, as if it has too strong a spring on it. It makes smooth driving a pain in the proverbial.

Any fixes?

I've thrown litres of oil on it Dan.

Sounds like the same problem you get with the clutch cable.

Ill be changing mine very soon, Its really is a pain in the A55 when you stop in the middle of town and its still at 3000rpm :-(
