Hello! I'm new and could do with some advice...

  Arctic 182, GTD
Hiya, as stated im new to this forum, i currently drive a mk5 zs which im in the process of selling and really wanna get a clio :) but im kinda a idiot to clio's. Like is there anything majorily noticeable between the ph2 172 and 182? Because i like the 172 because of the turinis but like the 182 because of the exhaust lol. And also obv bad points to look for when buying one??? Any help or advice would be great!

Thanks

You would be better buying a mint 172 than a tired 182 , You can pick up sets of Turinis for around the £300 mark all day long so it's not hard to upgrade, The turinis only came on the 172 cups & the 182 Trophys, There is little difference between a 172/182 power wise, You NEED to make sure the cambelt & other belts have been changed on any clio you look at, It £500 job to have it done so make sure it's been done & been done at a reputable garage. There is a buyers guide on here but you will need to sign up to view it, It's £12 but the advice from some of the people is worth alot more, If you find a car you like the look of, post a link and people on here will be more than happy to give their opinion on that car with regards to price etc. :) Oh and Welcome!

Nice one cheers mate. Well at the moment i'm looking at a silver 172 on pistonheads i like the look of but the problem i got is im inpatient and im still trying to sell mine lol whats the difference between the normal 172 and the cup then?? And this is the clio im looking at http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3527761.htm

The cup is the lightweight version, You get basically no luxuries, No leather seats, Less sound proofing, No xenons, No auto wipers, no climate control / aircon, The cups are for people who just want a drivers car, If you will be using it on the road mainly then you want the regular 172, The link to the car above look great! , The only thing i would be worried about is that there is no mention of the cambelt, Give him a ring / message and find out when it was last done and ask for the price that was paid, You can usually tell if it's been done by a reputable garage and not some dodgy place by the price as it's an expensive job and genuine parts are not cheap. What's your max budget ?

well im looking for about £2200 for my car then obv throw an extra couple of hundred on aswell from a paycheck lol yeah I wouldnt buy one without the cambelt being done with proof etc. For parts, labour and all that im alright because of my work etc. I reckon ill go for a standard one then cz ive done the lightweigh car scene and its horrible for a part daily car, and i like air con. but i want to get one with turinis really.
