Help my clio 1.2 16v will not start



Basically when I put the key in the ignition and try and start the engine, this red light in the middle of the speedo l and the engine won't start, as in, it does nothing at all

Any clicking? This can be a flat battery.

If not, it sounds immobiliser related. I had a bit of a fluke once when I disconnected the battery for half hour, then reconnected and it worked just fine.

Does the red light flash quickly or is it on solid?

A flashing red light mean that the key is not being accepted by the car therefore not turning the immobilizer off to allow the car to start.

1) Check the battery in the key by sliding the fob apart.
2) Check Fuse 21 in the passenger side fuse box, its a 5amp fuse.

If you have a spare key try that aswell
