  330Ci M Sport
kind of long winded but here goes....

previously ran a renegade 1000w 4 channel amp to a sub and 6x9s and all was good for the previous 6/7 months....
mounted the amp on the back of my seat this week and all looked fantastic, but nothing worked....turns out i blew the main power fuse whilst my amp wasnt connected, so no damage to the amp ther...changed the fuse and everything works....but with a hell of a load of interference through my 6x9. thinking this was due to running the RCA's to close to the power cable i re-routed it, but still the interference......admittedly they run down the same side of the car to the headunit but this was always the case and i never had a problem before....
Ive checked wires for damage but everything seems to be fine.....anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing the inteference?? help much appreciated!!

do a battery test matey as this is the main damper for ac ripple other than that id say upgrade your rca to some double screened ones and try one of the numerous different products available for reducing interfearence and filtering out floor noise from your rca signal ie
ground loop isolator (small box cost around £13 the rca runs in then out)
noise surpressor (runs inline with the power cable and earths to chassis)
line driver (boost pre/amp voltage)

is it definately interfearence from the charging system?

not saying for sure, but as you've mounted it on the back of your seats, then the case of the amp is in contact with the earth/negative of the car, this could be the source of your problem.

also are the 6x9's playing ok? or is the signal week? if so you may have blown the tranny/ic (not sure if they still use the old STK's)

could have done some damage to the brushes in the alt when you operated the main fuse, as they produce awful lot of noise when on there way out

have you double checked your earth for the amp also

the earth's always the same as it was.....the earth for the drivers side rear lights...have since removed the amp from the back of the seats and mounted as it previously was,on the boot floor itself, with the cabling as it always was, yet there is still inteference....i get the generic high whir with acceleration, which was never a problem before, but also sum crackling and small thudding through the 6x9's although they otherwise appear to work ok....iv heard noise supressors damage the system, but il give everything else you've suggested a try when i get the chance...thanks guys....

i had a problem like this in my clio, i had amps powering my components and sub. i tried re-wiring the car, one side for power and the other for rca's etc. didnt work. in the end i bought one of those ground loop isolator thigys from halfords (as Jamesy suggested) and worked a treat. all is fine now! hope this helps
