  320d M Sport

Seriously, this is doing my head in!! I went to Edinburgh and came back with approximately 89% of their entire fly population stick to my lights, bonnet and bumper!

Ive tried every trick I know but theres marks all over my car that I just cannot get off.

Can anyone help, im real pissed off about it :(:(:(:(:(:(

sob, boo hoo etc

i killed a few hundred earlier when went to Tesco...well at least it was a clio that killed them, they will know they went out in glory rather than it being a saxo!

you can get some bug/tar remover from halfolds. spray on, wipe off, some of the little kamakazi buggers take a bit of hard rubbing though!

lick them off.

or, if your human

use one of those bug remover sponges and spray stuff. like a hard sponge with fish net tights on em.

i just use an old bit of t-shirt instead of the sponge, seems to work, i just dont trust those coarse bug shifter pads you can buy

ive got the same prob, my number plate looks ridiculous, you wash the car, bu you can always still see some bugs on the bumper!

What ever you do dont leave them on there too long. I made that mistake, loads of flies on the car, didnt have time to wash the car before I went on holiday. Came back 2 weeks later still didnt have any time. It was going on a month before I got the chance to wash it. Its been over 2 years since that time and the blood still hasnt come off.

You tried a jet wash?

Soak some old towels in warm water with shampoo in, and cover the offending panels for 10 mins. Or even place kitcken towels over the panels and spray with soapy water then leave to soften the bugs.

The bugs will then simply wipe away without any need for scrubbing.

Works a treat on bird poo on the screen too ....

I have a sponge with a sort of net on it.. so when you rub it seems to take them off..

Paddy next time u go for a long drive cover the front with clingfilm, then when u stop simply peel it off bugs and all! :p.

I jetwash the little bleeders off - Got a fantastic jetwasher near me - the hoses are mounted directly above ur car on rotating arms - no more dragging crappy hose over ur just washed car!!

yep on Rushgreen road - I was in it today, after driving all the way to Bowdon filling, only to find a queue a mile long:mad:.

This one is 2 mins from my house, and has de best Jetwasher I have ever used - not too sure why all the caravans are there though - its worth going just to check out the "modded" nova LMFAO.

Oh BTW - Watch out for the newly installed Gatso, just past the Bowdon filling stn, near that flower stand.

I nearly pooped meself when I saw it (mind u I was chasin a 3.2 Omega) Luckily I dont think its working just yet.

haha - like the tescos trip post... reminds me of my lottery ticket detours

I used to work as a valetter and they had a diesel-powered jet washer for the scoobys there. The best thing for flies was bug and tar remover, the clear stuff (not sure where you can buy it - halfords?), just spray that on and leave for a while -do your alloys or something while youre waitin, and then spray off with ya Karcher.....

I do exactly the same as you with a couple of old wet t-shirts. A friend of mine does the same to his bike helmet, a good soaking and they all wipe away. Much better than the bug and tar remover stuff.

I keep a plastic bottle of water in the car and if I am out for a while and there is bird poo on the car, I can give it a quick swish away until I get home and can clean it properly.

I always wax my number plate when doing the car, which makes it a bit easier to get flies off.

Paddy, the Scottish flies are pretty tough and probably had a good feed of haggis before landing on your car! Obviously they have good taste in choosing your motor!! ;)
