Help!, how do you remove the front door?

  Ph1
How do you remove the 2 hinge pins from the front door of a ph2 Clio to remove the door?

Iv removed the 2 clips on the pins but the pins themselfs won't budge.

Anyone help?

cheers

With my mates astra we just smacked them continuously with a hammer, get 1 or 2 people to hold up the door and another to hit the pin up with the hammer, use plenty of wd40 while doing this as it makes it a load easier!

Haynes says to use a folked tool and hit it. Iv tried with a hammer but just worried il damage the pins then i really would be in trouble.

We did it with a hammer and punch. Pretty straight forward. Will need two people though

Just undue it from the shell rather than the door?

So how did you get on? I've got to replace a front door and like you I can't get the pins to budge - can't get a hammer anywhere near them though:S

I ended up taking it to a bodyshop mate.

The guy had a lot of hassle getting the pins to shift. Bit of a nightmare apparently.

Theres no special tools so hitting it out is the only way

Bodyshop couldn't do it either. The top hinge was eassy they said because you have the whole height of the door to swing the hammer; but the bottom hinge is knocked out upwards and because of the sill, tthere is no clearance underneath to swing a hammer at it.
My bodyshop guy reckons you need a special tool from Renault; but he's an a-hole.

Anyone from Renault care to comment? Or advise how to hit the lower pin out?

On the Fiesta I did a while back I used a club hammer and a long-ish punch.

I just did mine in 5 minutes..., I used a ratchet extension and a hammer to tap the pins out and then for the last bit just get some pliers on the top and pull, have someone lift the door up to relieve pressure
