Help in buying my mk2 172 please!!

hi there everyone finally getting rid of the megane for a 52 plate black 172.

i just wondered if anyone could give me some advise on what to look for when going round the car and checking etc... the car has done 54,000 miles with full service history i have been told is in mint condition and has sat nav fitted. I am getting the car for 6,000 which is think is below book price anyway i am getting from a reputable garage who last owner traded in for a 4x4 anybodys help with this would be excellent i am going to see the car today at 5 so advise before this time would excellent so i know i am prepared!!!!

I think 6k is about right, although always try and nudge them a bit on the price. check for any rattles, check service history, check tyre tread wear, panel alignment, any sign of it been played with, especially wear to any nuts/bolts etc.

check for accident damage, and make sure the history is legit. ie phone the garage thats stamped the service book. Also make sure the engine is stone cold before you start it up.

check all the fluid levels under the bonnet..
54k.. just loosened up nicely then...

Sounds like a nice car....especially in black.

6k sounds reasonable although I think if you did shop around you may be able to find an example with fewer miles on.
