Help installing windows XP

just brought a hp laptop off someone on here and its got ubuntu 10.04

i want to put xp on it.

when trying to install it i get to the partition part, i click c drive and it says windows cannot recognie this partition you selected..

what do i do now?

im lost?

Delete the partition and create a new one, Windows can't install on dynamic disk

Unless you want to keep Linux and dual boot just delete all the partition(s) and start from fresh.

when reinstalling relevent hp stuff back to the laptop. as i dont have a detailed spec, im assuming if i miss something it wont matter as i wont know.

theres seem to be so much s**t to intall

Yeah HP are c***s like that. They have pre-requisites as well for some of their software, which is TRULY annoying if you don't pay attention when you download them given their file naming.

Jeeezo, so there is! Install all the ones that are different, the ones that are the same install the latest version.

Yeah, HP are a PITA with their support pages. That's why you should ALWAYS keep the discs!

The worst crime HP is guilty of is about half-a-dozen network card drivers for the same bloody PC! That really does make my piss boil - especially when you need the network first to do anything after that!

The VAST majority of stuff you won't need in all fairness.

I'd try the Intel PRO Wireless ones first - see how those go. But if you have a legit copy of Windows and have the wired network card drivers already installed, Windows Update will 99% of the time find the correct wireless drivers for you....
