Help installing windows XP

Unless you want to keep Linux and dual boot just delete all the partition(s) and start from fresh.

excellent worked.

many thanks for your help guys, not mega up on reinstalling windows

Yeah HP are c***s like that. They have pre-requisites as well for some of their software, which is TRULY annoying if you don't pay attention when you download them given their file naming.

well on that page there are a million things to install, do i need to install all of em?

i would but as i brought this second hand its i dont get a choice

cheers for ya help

The worst crime HP is guilty of is about half-a-dozen network card drivers for the same bloody PC! That really does make my piss boil - especially when you need the network first to do anything after that!

The VAST majority of stuff you won't need in all fairness.

I'd try the Intel PRO Wireless ones first - see how those go. But if you have a legit copy of Windows and have the wired network card drivers already installed, Windows Update will 99% of the time find the correct wireless drivers for you....
