help me please

last week i brought a 01 1.6 16v dyn + been fine till now.
just finished work started the car and it was idelin very low, think to me self let it warm up it will be ok, next i get a rotten egg smell, im thinkin cats gone. i start drivein an i can hear a funny noise and then me emision light flashes on an off.
wats goin on please help

sounds like one of the coils has broken down, running on 3 cylinders, need to get it done quickly as letting unburnt fuel into the cat will do it no good at all.

coil where is this and is it going to be expensive

you have four of them sitting on top of the engine. do you aa/rac cover ? they will come and do it for you.
if not where abouts are you as im sure someone on here can recommend a local place to sort it for you. coils are about £25ish from somewhere like eurocarparts or about £40ish for genuine plus fitting and ecu reset.

oh i no what you mean the coils on top of the spark plugs, am i gonna have 2 replace the lot or just 1 , if 1 how do i find out which one it is. and how do i get the ecu reset is that dealer thing only , im 15mins from birmingham reno, do the think this will be covered by the 3 month warenty the garage i brought it from?????

read your booklet from the company to check if its covered , price will depend on dealer labour rates.

if u only brought it last week, take it back n complain, i work for a dealer n if u brought it bck 2 me i wud get it done for u, gud customer service.
