help me please!!!

hey everyone , im a newbie to the clio scene, to cut a long story short i have just swapped my 2001 seat ibiza cupra, 93000miles for a clio cup 172 52 plate , 51000miles, i am surprised how quick it is and was initialy going to sell it but im stuck oon what to do, i have a 1994 subaru impreza wrx with mods putting out about 300 bhp, i really dont know what one to keep the clio or the scooby, can any of you please help with you opinions,?i mean the scooby eats petrol, and costs a lot to insure, the clio is fast aswell but limmited to power gains being a n/a engine but is good on fuel and cheap to insure, help me please, lol:evil:

Sounds like you've pretty much answered your own question fella!.. lol

and there's not going to be many folk on here, a Clio forum, saying ditch the 172 in favour of a Scooby... meh..

the more i think about it im keeping the clio, the scooby is fast but so will the clio be ;),lol , thanks for the welcome

keep the clio. makes sense at the moment. there is nothing to stop you turbo charging the na clio engine.

yeah if i had 5k i wud turbo charger it , what a wepon that wud be,lol, any of u guys recommend some good mods, already got a k and n and decat , what sort of gains with these mods etc?thanks

What you will find is better is to make sure the engine has plenty of cold air getting into the induction. A K&N on its own wont do that. The air filter will be sitting behind a hot radiator sucking in warm air so no real improvement over a standard filter system. Its probably better to retain the standard airbox and use a high flow air filter in it. The induction will be quieter, but the performance should be better.

The 172 can be imroved by lightening and balancing the engine and uprating the cams and going to throttle bodies. Depends how big your wallet is. A friend of mine who used to work for Renault design in France has a 172 Ph1 and he's getting 220 bhp from his engine. They're as quick as any impreza and awesome fun to drive. I've had mine six months and love the way it goes.

I imagine you can have just as much if not more fun in a cup than a 300bhp impreza, and for a lot cheaper too !

yeah thanks guys, i am definately gona keep the cup. took it to the garage and it needs a vall joint and front wheel bearing, do any of u guys know where i can get a ball joint without the wishbone as i was told u cant buy them seperate by the garage.ive already tried euro car parts and the only one they do has 10mm holes not 12mm?thanks
