What OS are you running? IWhat version of word is it.

Did you create the document on a newer version

Its word 2003 I think.

Was working away on it along with a few other documents this morning in another part of the school which uses the same version of word. All of the documents open fine bar one. The most important one obviously...

Hm I doubt it will be the security update if everything else works.. try below

Go to Tools > Options > General (Tab) in Word 2003 check “Confirm Conversion at Open” When you next try to open the document it will prompt you with a list to convert from. Choose Word 2007
