I recently did a track day at Croft, the car performed pretty good to until around 4pm when the brake pedal went solid at the end of the straight causing next to no braking and the car ending up in the gravel. Before that the brakes had been working great with no fade. The fluid level was also fine and the pads have plenty of life left.
Since then I’ve had the car on the ramp at work. I have removed the vacuum line from the inlet to the servo and pressure tested it for any leaks under water. Nothing, no signs of it sucking itself shut when warm either.
I can pump the pedal with the engine off until hard, start the engine and the pedal is sucked down.
Does anyone have any suggestion? Could the servo itself need replacing?
I don’t fancy this happening again on the next track day.
