  Clio 1.4
If just bought all my Audio system, i have mounted the amp on the sub and the sub is in the boot, but gettin the wiring through to the battery is being a pain in the bum?

Its mainly the panels that are causing the problems, i ripped out the seats to try to get the panelling off but it just didnt work.

Any help would be most appreciated

lol? there is a grommet hole in the passanger footwell behind the carpet near the top, shove it through there and your in the engine bay. good luck

Ok right -
Start at the battery with the live, shove the red lead (live) through the hole in the bulk head (where the grommet is) run the wire down the door sill of the car (you may have to mess about with the trim which runs the length of the car) Get all of the other wires (the remote one from the back of the stereo etc) Run them under the carpet (not together with the live - as that'll cause interference, which you don't want)
Run all of the wires under the rear seat & into the boot - job done:)
Then wire up the amp, earth up the amp (need a good earth) fit the live to the live terminal on the battery & away you go.
Whole job should take about 30 mins tops or so.

If you still can't do it, take it to your local stereo shop & get them to do it:) (probs cost about £30.00) or get one of your mates to do it, if they know what they are doing.

Hope that helps.

I know this might sound stupid but i cant get the wires to the bonet i cant find the grommet, what does it look like?

A gromet is a small black rubber circle, probably about the size of a 10p coin. If you poke the grommet out you be able to put the live (red) wire through.
Have a look under the bonnet & you should see the gromet.

With regard to the standard stereo, you'll only be able to wire the amp up to it if it has whats called a 'pre out' some have 1, some have more.
You'll need to plug the power lead of the amp (the big thick goldy coloured cable, with one red & one white end) into the back of the stereo & the amp.
You'll also need to wire up the 'remote' lead for the amp, and the earth etc. If you don't do all of this stuff - plus what I wrote above it won't work.

Which clio do you have by the way ?
