my service light came on my dash today as its due a oil service but then when i started the car it said oil

what does that mean. yesterday it said oil ok. does it just mean its due a service or the oil is low??

iam not sure because the engine is heated so i cant check the level myself

the ------- just means your low so top up and you'll be foine!

service light doesnt come on when its due a service, it comes on to tell you theirs a problem/fault and to take it to your dealer.

as said the ------ means your oil is low, top it up asap! (may as well get it changed if its due it)

dipstick ? just check it, that will give you your answers
