Help removing tints

  X-172 Cup
Hi,
As a follow on from my previous posting - thanks to everyone for their opinion, the tints are going this afternnon.

I'm assuming that they just peel off from the inside and I'll do the sides first before I do the back window.

I'm worried that I will damage the heater filament on the back window when I remove the tint - any advise?

If they have been fitted properly don't you have to take the side windows out?

Could be completely wrong just throwing my 2p into the mix.

Well matey, i had limo tint on the front of my dynamique...got pulled over with the feds n all that jazz, had to have them removed within 10 days, went back to the place that i had my tints done, the guy took £50 for removing the tints, then he said bring the car back in a week or two and i'll retint with a lighter tint at no extra cost....i know you don't want any tint at all but i'd say the best idea is go to a local tint place and have them taken off properly, as Griff says if they have fitted properly they'll be a bit of a b!tch to get back off without the correct solvents etc.

Spoke to previous owners brother - he reckons use a hairdryer...can't wait to see the enighbours face when I pop outside with the wifes Revlon...:S

  As father and son....
aye it can be done with a hairdryer. my advice would be to get it done properly though.

If you are going to use a hairdryer, get a little scraper as well like u use on the wallpaper from Wilkos or something. Helps roll the film off as it heats up

Job done - & it's not even dark yet, and not dark inside my car anymore - tried & tested (by me) 30 minute job; To remove your tints use a hairdyer, get yer nail behind the corner until you have something to hold, then ease it out until you have one side, then pull accross & Roberts yer Dads Brother! :approve:

Spray the Glass with degreaser (Gunk or sililiar) to get the bits of adhesive off then finish with Glass cleaner - this is the bit that takes the longest.

Pretty sure the rear window element was not damaged but I guess I won't know until it's frosty...

They all came off in piece - doddle

Now she feels like mine!!!! - strange that, by un modyfying my car I feel I have personalised it, I think I understand now why people modify their cars...
