help wiring subs to amps

  Toureg vW Transporte

hi i have just bought 2 rocksford fosgate subs and a kenwood kac 7**** something amp, wot settings do i use to wire these 2 up and how do i wire them in, bridged or wot, please help. cheers

Depends on how many channels the amp has, if it has 2 channels then you will want to run 1 sub off each channel, if it has 4 then you will want to bridge channels 1&2 , & 3&4 together.

You will need to see the instrution manual for info on bridging.

Basically you want it set up so that you have equal power, and max power going to each sub.

it has 2 channels, so i presume that i run it mono, and run it bridged or not, couldnt understand the manual,. thanks, for the help, im not that dim, honest

yeah i woudl run one cahnnel for each amp, you need to get teh restance of the subs matching that of the amp, most amps have a 2ohm or a 4ohm option, i think im right in saying most subs are 2ohm arent they? - unsire on this

ok, think i get it, any more advice any1? how do the seats come out, wanna take em out to wire the stuff up?ta

Most subs are 4 ohm, Seats come out 2 bolts near the doors inside and the 2 on each seat in the centre of the car need to be undone underneath the car by the cat conv. Run the power cable and RCAs as far away from each other as possible.

I didnt take the seats out of my valver when i ran my 2awg cable the length of the car down the centre because i didnt know how so it is possible to do it without removing them its just a pain in the backside.

Have fun
