help with immobiliser and central locking!

can anyone help me, or has anyone else had the same problem as me!

i know clios have a problem with water leaking through the sunroof and aerial. but cos mines been leaking for so long its knackered me immobilser sensor! cant get it to turn off to start me car!

can i take it to an autoelectrician to sort it or do i need it to go to a renault garage? am worried incase i need a whole new central locking system too!

any help would b appreciated guys!

Why not take the reciever out and leave it on top of a radiator for a day or 2 to dry out. It's worked for me before with other things but never tried it on a clio reciever.

take it out and use a hair dryer on it... you can just tug on the circuit board and it will come out. once out dry it.. then look for the blue corrosion.. just lightly scrape away with a pin

Won't need a whole new locking system...worst case it'll be the reciever board plus 2 plips but try drying/cleaning it as said.

What kind of immobiliser and clio is it? I'd be tempted just to rip it out completely and save some cash...

the immobiliser is built in to ecu mate.. it senses the plip.

What...is it a phase 2 valver shes got or something as she didn't say? In that case, not just stick a phase 1 ECU in for 30quid and loose the remote locking...or until you can get a complete plip/receiver from matbrown/infinicar?

I was always unconvinced about how secure the std system is anyway as my neighbours RT plip could unlock my old 16v...worrying...

me cars a 1998 p reg rn. been told theres no way of deactivated the immobiliser without the key! trouble is tho cant get the pcb out me n me fella were sat there for an hour the other night tryin to get it out. i know it comes out, been out b4, but cant do it.
