Halfords polisher will do very little in the way of paintwork correction, does not have the power.

You will need a proper machine polisher first up. Most modern day polishes just need to be applied to the pad and used like that no need to add water like messy old fashioned compounds.

Worth popping over to www.deatilingworld.co.uk and reading some machine polishing guides on there.

  Shed.
lot of money to spend tbh.

go to halfords and get some autoglym super resin polish.

leather fails. use microfibre towels.

You'd be better working by hand than using the Halfords buffer.

As far as difficulty is concerned, it is fairly easy to polish a car with a PC or G220 or UDM, although a little more skill is needed when using a rotary machine.

As Rich says all polishes nowadays are used on their own, the majority are well lubricated and have a decent work time, so they dont dry out.

As suggested, give SRP a whirl first, and top with something like EGP or a wax and see how you get on from there.

SRP will do very little to any swirls worth trying by hand either Megs Scratch X / Menzerna Intensive Polish or the Carlack Hand Polish bundle though.

No probs Dan, there are loads more guides out there on the web, decent polishes and pads are a great time saver. I introduced Menzerna to my mate in his bodyshop and he has not picked up the G3 since.

Nope Silicone free (Intensive Polish, Final Polish and Final Finish are anyway) so all good in a bodyshop environment.
