Help with re-spraying alloys.

I need a bit of advice on re-spraying my 172 alloys.

There not in the best nick, there curbed and the surface is blistering in
places, I don't need them to look like a show car and I don't want to
spend a week having a detailing w*nk over them, I just want to spray
them a different colour.

I've done a search and diddn't really find the answer, all the threads are...
"I've just re-sprayed my alloys" but they dont really say how,
can I just spray some paint on them and job done or will that look like sh1t?
Or is it a case of sanding them, prime them, then spray them?

Also what the hell do I use? (halfords own brand for example)

It may be a dumb question but the only guide has all it's pics deleted
and it's pretty long winded.

Any advice you can give me would be great also i'm skint so the cheaper the better.

Cheers for that, thats pretty intensive but i'm guessing it's the only way of doing it.

My wheels are gonna need professional refurbing as the rims are not in good shape,
so I don't think re-spraying them is an option for me at the moment.

Thanks anyway for the link.
