Something related to your power steering, may be a pressure sensor I can't remember but someone on here will know for sure.

what the ideal controle about then n , oh will this have any thing to do with my cruise control keep cutting out and not working

If you'v ever turned your wheel full lock hard to get out of a parking space you'l notice the addtional load (the whirring noise) on the engine as its pumping at a higher pressure this sensor will detect this and tell the ECU the pumps working harder, open the butterfly/idle valve more to compensate for the increased engine load. I couldnt tell you if it have an effect on cruise control logic would tell you not I would have thought this would only effect you if you were doing as I mentioned above or doing slow speed maneuvers when the cars moving fast there wont be much load on it.

Perhaps they havnt tightened up an eath or similar? Have you got any other running issues?
