Hi
I am having troubles starting my 2008 clio extreme, has been working fine parked at the shop came out 5 minutes later wouldn't start. Key fob seems to be working, locks and unlocks doors fine light and stereo works yet when I try and turn it over nothing happens...no clicking no attempt to start.

Can anyone help?

What is the immobiliser doing? (Red flashing dot on instrument panel)

When you turn ignition on, does it go out or does it remain solid red?

Well once I turn the ignition the immobiliser light turns off as I thought it may have been that to start off with.

Hmm, no noise at all when you try and start it?

I'm sure the starter motor has a fuse by the battery itself . A small amount of fuses me thinks under a cover . Check those fuses to see if any are blown

Yeah no noise at all...I am going to try jump starting it soon as it's at the bloody shops so I can try getting it home and have a look at a few bits, I will look at the fuses hopefully it's something minor but I know electrical faults can be a common issue with renault so I'm hoping it's nothing too mad....got a 10 month old who's burning holes in my pockets let alone the car

Crank sensor ? Give it a clean/sand..

With the crankshaft sensor would it not try to fire up? As mine is not even attempting to turn over...

I believe so typhoon...I didn't have a great deal of time to look earlier as typically it broke down on the commute to work, just seems odd that one minute it's fine next it's gone...maybe needs a new battery, I assume the stereo and lights can still work and the battery be dead as they use such low power output ?

Tried jump starting....nothing
Think I'll get it towed home tomorrow and have a look over another few bits

I'd check over the fuses and the earths (battery and gearbox)
