Hi all, Just picked up my Ph1 172 :)

Well just back from collecting my 2000 ph1 172, very pleased with it. Its in Titanium grey, needs a good polish tomorrow then will get some pics up. Few niggles with it that I need to sort.

1. No fog lights, has blanking covers, guess they got broke in the past. Where is good for replacements?

2. Wheel bearing gone, looking at ordering new discs pads etc and getting that sorted, just gambling on recovering the old abs ring..:S

3. Some idle speed changes, will clean out the ICV i guess..

4. Few noises from the engine, just want to give it a good oil flush/change and go from there.

Plans after its running as it should will be some HID's, tuning of somesort and some lightening work.

Good points so far I have noticed, its has lightweight bonnet, and shift light

Ph1 fogs are easily had off ebay. Mine got water damage and the connections corroded. £25 each new delivered. Theres a few ebay shops that do them.

Id double check all the wiring is still behind the covers otherwise that sounds dodgy!

Probably a better bet and won't cost much more in the long run to just change the rear discs for new renault ones which come with rings and bearings already pressed on/in. Got mine from gdi for £130 iirc. Obviously pads will want doing to match but they're cheap as anyway.

KNow the lack of fogs is worrying, but its deffo a sport And no slam panel damage.

Got some discs with bearings and abs sensors attached inc pads for £95 off ebay just now.

I also have one key, and just found out how much they are from renault
Will just have to keep hold of it!

Giving it a good clean tomorrow and get some new fluids from halfrauds with the trade card to go in it.

Everything you need, front and rear brake pads with discs can all be had for less than £65.

Think the rear bearings are around £15 uurc

No got the car from High Wycome.

The reason I went for the ebay ones were, they are all pressed in already, means one less trip out somewhere to do that part of the job.

Cambelt was done 6k ago, and the accessory belts they call them on invoice, not aux??

Accessory belt is just a birds name for it. Its auxiliary
