Yes you will get insured, but if you watch fifth gear on monday night you would have seen prices a bit ridiculous :)

Yeah...I'm sure you can get insured but it'll probably cost a fair bit.

There isn't really any way round it though....if you get insured now you can rack up the no claims and in a few years it should come down.

Yes mate, i had one for my first car and it was £1300. I know that sounds a bloody lot and it is, but most cars are around that 1.5k mark :( ..... sucks dont it

Welcome.

You'll get insured, but it will cost ya, but as mentioned not a lot you can do.

Morning, you'll easily get cover on a 1.2 but the cost will be a big factor. Where you live and if the car is garaged will effect the quotes not just your age and lack of NCD. Some insurers offer cheaper prices or effectively give you a years NCD against your policy if you do pass plus so might be worth looking into that.

just go in your own mane straight away, if you cant afford the car and the insurance get a cheaper car. believe me now i'm paying the price :(

You can get the cost down by adding parents to the policy too. As said though its best to insure in your own name because Its fraud to go as a second or named driver if the car is yours and you are the main user and secondly you would build up NCD if you arent the policyholder.

Welcome mate, my first car cost me £1100 on insurance, second car cost me £880, and third is away to cost me £1365, the joys of being young!

Insurance?

1) add your Mum on the insurance (and dont let her drive it!) - older women are much lower risk - it should work - try it!

2) shop around - like 20 quotes -

do pass plus aswell, this seems to help new drivers insurance premiums go down ALOT.

wish i had done it tbh

Welcome to CS

I got a 03 plate 1.2 16v... my insurance costs me £1700 with tesco.. and that is the cheapest i have found..

confused is the best place if your lazy like me and can't be arsed getting loads of quotes - and when you've found the cheapest and are ready to buy, it always helps to get the quote online via the site above, then call the insurer, they can bring your quote up on the computer and then haggle some more, I saved a few £'s doing it like that!!
