Hole Spacing *Pics*

Heya

So I'm hoping to get some new springs and shocks fitted in the near future. Found the ones I want but they require 58mm hole spacing. I'm terrible with cars, but very eager to learn. So off I went outside with my tape measure and lack of knowledge. Here is a picture of my findings;

Looks about 48mm if moved up slightly. I know its not 100% accurate but that seems pretty short. am i measuring the right thing? :eek: I measured from the end of the bolt to the other end and got about 54mm, and if i measure the nut to nut id get about 58mm. not confident enough to take my wheel off and start undoing things, should i ask a friend or garage to give me a 100% measurement? opinions please

many thanks
