run the speaker cable under the carpet then stick them in the walls
I have wooden floor glued onto concrete so not an option sadly. We have a 2 foot crawl space under the whole floor so that is my only option other than forking out 100 quid to get the cable to go around the outside of the room. The cable i have is 1 meter too short but will reach under ground.
are you doing 5.1?
I'm an audio/visual engineer so any questions fire my way! I do this for a living
While you are here then... Yes. 5.1 with a THX system. I need to know how far apart to place the fronts and where to place the rears. Apparently they can be put on either the side or back wall. Our sofa is quite close to the back and the speakers would be close to the ceiling so i am thinking that side would be best as there is more distance to the sitting position from there.
To make things a bit more complicated the rears are Mordaunt Short 506R and have cones facing away from each other at 90 degrees. (a google will bring up a picture.)
Any advise will be warmly recieved. I am now going to go and do battle with spiders and claustraphobia for the next half hour while i try to feed the cables through.
