clean all the connections - especially the earth/ground. If that doesn't work try running a wire to it straight from the battery & see if it works then (you'll still need to earth it) - if that doesn;t work you'll probably need a new one although it most likely just needs the connections cleaning

is the horn located just under passenger side head light and if so where abouts are conectors

May be the connector in the steering wheel worked loose. Press the button on the left stalk (opposite side to the trip computer button) as that is the horn as well. At least then you will know what end you want to work on.

Thats a duff button on the mk2 ph2 fella, Horn is on the steering wheel itself,

You might need to pop the old airbag out and check the connections there,

Didn't realise that it was a duff button on the ph2 as on the ph1 it works :)

would be best to check it's not the horn first - use a couple of test leads to connect it directly to the battery. if it works, the problem's with the wiring/'button'

i can't remember how many connections the horn has - if it has two, they'll be live&earth; if it has one, it'll be live and the horn will be earthed internally through its mounting to the shell (take it off and clean mounting points if they're corroded)

you could test the feed lead/s as well by holding them against a spare bulb whilst someone pushes horn

basically, find out if it's the horn or the wiring first

just been out in car kept trying the horn and got it to work just the once then stopped again

My horn was only working on one tone for ages so I took the wheelarch liner off under the left front wing and checked the connections for the twin horns. It turned out that the spade connectors were corroded so I replaced all of the connectors and cleaned the ends of the wires before putting new spade connectors on. I also soaked the connections with WD40 before putting everything back together. Now I've got twin horns again.
