Does anyone know of the top of their heads the ID of the induction elbow (airbox end) on a Mk 2 172?

Im not sure what the ID number is but I guess you actually want the size hence the ruler comment... the size of the 90 degree bend from the throttle body to the filter i believe is 70mm, maybe some 1 could confirm this for you or do a search.
