Off to look at this now, wondering what people think?? Not used to buying cars so just wanted to check Id covered everything.

Just asked the seller if its had its belts done and he confirmed they were done with the service at 60k miles

Nope.

Just got back from viewing the above and test driving.

He is offering it to me for £3065 thats with part exing my car and comes with 12 months MOT and 6 months tax, FSH and the car is VERY clean.

I have to ring the garage they had it serviced at tomorrow to check the belts have been done as he said the previous owner told him they had but he didnt actually have any proof for me, so providing it has Ill be getting it this week sometime me thinks.

Spoke to the guy earlier when I was test driving and he reckons he put it up too cheap for £3695 and was still offering me it at this price but has increased it on Auto Trader lol

£3695 aint a bad price but you should atleast haggle.

I tried Chris but he reckoned he hadnt done his homework and put it one too cheap (hence the price appears to have gone up on the website) but he said as Id made the effort to travel over he would stand by the previous figure for me but couldnt go lower.

I got a quote from webuyanycar.com of £850 and in reality thats prob what its worth, it needs both passenger and driver manual locks fixing also central locking none of which are cheap tbh so he offered me £650 knocking off a couple of hundred to fix the locks and I thought it was worth it meaning I get the cup for approx £3k. Saves me hassle of finding a buyer

Ditto, its riding on that really. I have the garages number thats done the services so going to call them in the morning and ask.

Whats wrong with the central locking? If you got that fixed it wouldnt really matter about the manual locking as most dont work anyway.

If you dont want the hassle though then i suppose £650 aint a bad deal.

I thought it was the battery but wasnt as I changed it and still didnt work. Renault were quoting me approx £200 to fix it which with the hassle and that he would give me £850 which is trade price so not toooooo bad

Update:
Just spoke to the garage the guy reckoned the cambelt had been done with and it hasnt been done.

The guy has offered to meet me halfway with the cost of the cambelt repair which is not bad I guess.

Give him a renault price for the cambelt change, then go to RStuning, he'll have paid the full amount then.

How much has he offered you?

Bear in mind it is cambelt kit, aux belt kit and water pump.
IIRC, it is pushing £300 on parts alone.

that sounds like an aux belt to me not a cam belt

ring the garage and double check, coz you dont wanna have to pay for a cam belt to be done out of ur own pocket
