how do i remove sideskirts?

I need to remove the sideskirts from my 172 i thought they would just be held on by torx screws but it looks like they are riveted on. How do i get them off?

The rivets go through the sills and holes in the skirts, if you get something like a sharp knife and put it between the sill and skirt, then cut the rivets in two. The skirts then just lift out of the brackets that hold them on.


Edit: Unless the rivets are made of metal, in which case I wouldn't know how to help

I do think they are metal

just drill the heads off then hole punch the rest out of the sill, then they just lift up and unclip. takes about 5 min to do

only thing is i have my own rivet gun to put it back on, so you may need to go to a garage or body shop tp get them to rivet it back on
