I do mine every two weeks - wash it with a bucket, Halfords car shampoo and use a fluffy thing (not a sponge), dry with a chamois leather then every couple of months I use black Turtle Wax on it - and it looks fine! I usually put some tyre spray on as well, and Ive just got some proper alloy cleaner as well.
