i run 2 12" subs off my class d (mono block) it is only a 1-channel amp

it's better as they give out more power with lower impeadances

cheers

what power rating would i use - 12.5V or 14.5V??

wouldn't the RMS @ 2 ohm for the amp go down, meaning less power for the subs??

  Polo + Micra
no it's goes up as the current would be doubled

i'd say half way between the two voltages

Dual 2's wired the correct way will load the amp at 2 ohms.
This means it works harder and produces more sound.

When your car isn't running the battery will provide about 12volts, when the car is running (which is a good idea when you've amp(s)) then its running about 14volts through the electrical system.
