How long do Brake shoes last

I know theres no definite average but Im just wondering as Reno claimed to have fitted new ones under warrenty when I got the car 16000 miles ago. However they are now making a grinding noise like they are worn down so any help would be much appreciated.

they probably just need stripping and cleaning out.brake shoes can last up to 100,000 miles depending on how you drive.

LivinLegend - they are only 15s, its nothing to do with that im sure.

Thanks Jay Ill give it a shot as even if they are the originals the car has only done 40k.

brake dust build up in the drum can make the brakes noisy.
