How much to get cam belt/timing belt changed ?

Dunno if i posted this in correct place but here it goes.


Does anyone know how much i'd cost to get a cambelt cahnge on my 2002 172ff (its sitting on 45,000 miles now) ?

As theres no Renault Specialists in Aberdeen i have resorted to a few Renault Stealers and they want £565 for changing it :nono:

I've tried other garages that aren't big dealers and some say they say they have no locking tools or something to do the job and some garages just say they can try and do it (but they aint much cheaper than main dealer. )

And there is no record in my service book of my Aux Belt being done would i have to do that as well ?


I didn't think a timing belt change would cost so much

I'd even drive done south a bit to get it done if its cheaper


Does anyone know of anywhere ?

Whats the Renault specialist in Leeds or Portsmouth called ?

Thats not bad. I think Nick @ Hillpower is about £500 ish for the cambelt and tensioners etc.

Yozzasport are a bit cheaper though iirc. I'm sure Fred will be along soon to advise.:approve:

I will also be in the market for Cambelt etc and water pump in November, so any estimates would be appreciated.

Was thinking of going there, but its a bit of a trek and price dependant.

Although one of my family live in Basingstoke which has gotta be closer driving to portsmouth from there.

Than from Aberdeen to Portsmouth in one go

I forgot my Timing Belt was due for a change till now when i was looking through my service book

So called round and what do people think about this price ?

£538.44 all in for timing belt kit and accessories belt change ?

I was quoted for 6 hours labour, does that sound about right ?

A quick question does the timing belt kit include tensioners ?

This is from a Renault Dealer, there are no local garages that will really look at it
