how much...

would it cost approx to get a garage to fit some lowering springs to my car, if i provided the springs?

Thanks

do em yourself and save the pennies :D
shouldnt take anymore than a couple of hours and is pretty simple on a dynamique

  VRS
*also theres a guide somewhere on the forum showing you how to do it!
i used it when i lowered my old car. i knew feck all bout how to do it but it was pretty simple and didnt take long to do.

If you do it yourself you need to make sure you have spring clamps (is that right?), and the correct tools for the job etc. For the sake of about £60 quid i'd take it down your local garage. I did when i had my 1.2 clio and saved a lot of hassle.

  VRS
you dont need spring compressors, just point them away from you when you undo them :D i found that saving 50-100 quid for the sake of 2 hours tinckering meant that it was a good cheap mod and i put the money i saved towards sumething else

Doing this without compressors/clamps isn't a very clever idea!

One of those things compressed could put a hole in a wall if it shoots of! :S

Cyberblob - take it to jordy at green lane garage on livesey branch rd. He will give you an estimate ( tell him u know me and chris )

far nuff matey, thats your opinion and i respect that
imo and after doing it myself, i found that there isnt that much 'kick' in the springs and there was never any point when it was 'unsafe' or dangerous and it certainly wouldnt put a hole in the wall, mine went about a foot lol

all depends how fast you let it down doesnt it!

if you drop the thing by accident or loosen it and it drops....

Fair play if you want to do it that way!

Not trying to get at you!

Just stationg for the benfit or Cyberblob!

Don't want him going into it without realising there is a safety factor!

On a Ka, unlikely, there's not half as much spring compression. You don't need compressor's, tho they will help.

£45 is a safe guess.

I've only done fiestas!

How-ever I do know of some springs which have shot off and caused a lot of damage!

Cheers Matt will do. Used them before for my MOT and my mate goes there all the time. Yeah wouldn't wanna risk doing it myself without the clamps and even if i had them id rather pay then mess something up. Thx Ben, im about 60miles from Chester so its a bit far, will let u know if im stuck.

definetly dont need spring compressors on 172/182's

i used them on my 1.2 when taking the springs off the first time. Since then its had shortened shocks and is lowered 60mm, and definetly doesnt need them :D
