Before I go into it I'm the second owner of this car and it's first (female) owner was very upfront about everything to do with the car...
I have invoices from Renault for when the first owner took the car back to renault for a paint defect on the drivers door and was rectified. No biggie - the car was immaculate when I went to look at it and purchased it 2 years ago.
Washing the car today I noticed a chip in the paint - rubbed my hand over it to see how deep the chip was and this happened!
I've had to cover it up quickly with a pen so you can't see it properly - What confused me was the fact it was silver underneath - then I realised it's the original paint underneath!
I also spotted the other little bit bubbling underneath the rear trim so decided to take it off to investigate - after fighting with the thing this is what I found....
Round of applause for Renault here I think you'll find. It's obvious the new paint can't stick to the original top coat so now it's had a couple of stone chips hit it it's started to fall away - it's only going to get worse too - I can see me getting the whole said repainted but with a few marks on the passenger side I'd rather get both flanks done - which I seriously can't afford at the moment with the wedding taking all the money we earn!
I'm pissed off because it's in great condition apart from this and a couple of bonnet scratches.
At least it's low down and mostly out of sighe but still...
Is it worth having a smart repair done for now do you think?
