How to clean up 'blackening' on Inlet manifold?

  Iceberg 172
Picked up our third Clio Sport last week, another 172 after having owned a 172 & 182 before.

The salt has blackened the inlet manifold quite a lot on this one, something I have seen with them before. Has anyone had success cleaning this off? Looks quite tough!

What if I'm the only dishwasher in the house?

Seriously though, the car is a daily driver, will that take me long?

Nope, it will take you maybe 20mins to take it all to bits. Then, I don't know, 2hrs in the dishwasher, dry it then reassemble in 20 mins?

If you don't fancy that. I scour pad with a bowl of hot soapy water and something like Cif spray would help budge most I would think. I have just done this to my barrel and head on my KTM whilst doing a top end rebuild and that came up well.
