How to disappoint the girlfriend

  PH-QUICK
Recently got a bargain years worth of insurance with elephant for £1370 at 19 with 1 years NCB no claims or points and in a grade A postcode.

The GF has wanted to drive it from the first day i got it, so i thought i'd see how much it was just to humour her, but she got 3 points for speeding earlier in the year so i thought it would probably be a fair wedge, turns out if she didn't have any points then to add her would only be the admin fee of for doing it of £15

BUT due to her 3 points would be an extra £180!

Never seen someone so disappointed in my life tbh.

useful for getting drunk and not having to worry about how to get home.

Already been forced into allowing her a go on a "beginners" track day. GARRH.

I wouldn't let my girlfriend or anybody else for that matter, drive my car because if they crashed it and I lost my ncb I would be gutted because it wasn't even my fault where as if I crash and lose my ncb then its my own fault and my mistake.

My girlfriend used to beg me to let her drive mine too. She drove it once and hated it (FTW tbh), clutch and gearbox to stiff for her apparently, now refuses point blank to even move it off the drive. She drives a 207 and everything especially the steering is so over assisted in that.

My GF is on my insurance, costs about an extra £100, she hates driving it though! :p

5k Scares her and the steering and clutch are too heavy from the 207 Sport she's used too! :p

All it took back when I had a GT Turbo to put off the missus was one push of the clutch pedal. There was no way I was ever going to insure her on it because she couldn't drive for s**t. Kept me in her good books letting her think I was though, lol

V.good price that for your age on an RS. When I was that age, they wanted there or thereabouts for a 1.1 Fiesta. Fooking-postcode-sweeping-statement-boolsh1t!

Category E at my parents and Category F where we live. Apparently. Take pictures of where we live and could easily be viewed as Cat B at least. That's not deemed relevant, however....

Mines a 'B'... ;)

You're damned unlucky where you are Darren, you'd never guess you were so close to the local ghetto. I will, however, be taking extra precausions next time I'm invited to stay... lol.

Ryan, you must be in a 'refered' rating going by the quote you had lately fella!

( I'll probably get my place done over now.. grrrrr)

My Gf's on mine because she brought my policy down by £150 for some odd reason! She doesn't really like driving it though as the controls are heavy compared to her mini!

+1000000

Correct!

I've driven one whilst my car was being repaired a couple years back and they feel so big and you can't feel any feedback through the wheel whatsoever, you can lift the clutch up without setting any gas to move and if you feel it going to stall you can adjust to prevent it, such a noobs car seriously not fun to drive at all, complete FAIL.

On topic though I don't let anyone drive my car EVER. Also regarding the writing off comments, its so true, I once lent my previous Clio to my sister for a month or so and when I got it back it was scratched and dented to f**k! Not to mention dirtier than a sewer. Never again I said. Do so at your own risk original poster but you've been warned.

  S2 106 GTI
My mrs is always on my insurance old 172cup, 265bhp LCR :D - brings it down and also handy when I can't be bothered to drive!

But shes not on the Trophy as it put it up?! but for no extra cost when she turns 25 in aug she can be put on.

I can drive her Loop GTI anytime though haha ;)

  182 FF
The 182 is in my name, it's my policy too as I'm a good girl with no points, 3 years NCD. my boyf has to be a named driver, which drives him nuts :)
