how to improve handling???

how can i improve my handling??? getting a bit of understeer.
ive got 17" wheels on and am on coilovers. what else can i do????
please help....

better tyres, less weight, thicker antiroll (sway) bars, strut brace, 15" wheels, 16" wheels, camber adjustment, drive better

best way is to install a better driver... I tried a Yoz and a 2 live and it worked wonders

..as mentioned surley removing huge 17" wheels (well they are for a supermini) will improve handling dont forget that big saloon cars run on 17" wheels most still on 16" wheels.
in times of old polos, clios etc.. would run 13" or 14" wheels so for a car of its size 17" is frankly daft.

try 28psi front and 25psi rear, it works for me

If you can adjust the damping on your coilovers make the fronts softer or the rears harder. Softer damping means the weight transfer onto the wheel is slower compared to the wheel with harder damping.

I have been reading a book about this so when I get home I will type out a better explanation.

My handling on 17's is ok, its no where near as good as they were on 16's though, you need some good tyres and you need to experiment with the presures

Get some powerfelx busshes, fitted some on my valver, worked wonders!

Increase the castor angle at the front this will acheive more negative camber on turn but still give you good tyre life.

And NEVER have higher pressure in the rear, why people do this for i have no idea!

As a rule front tyres should be 2/3psi higher than rear.

did you have the camber setup when you fitted the coilovers if not might be worth having them laser alligned otherwise not much point having them,if you did have them setup and you have changed the wheels that can knock it out

Never a popular answer but, its more likely that you need to learn how to drive.

Spend some time with someone who REALLY knows how to setup a chassis, more often than not the fact that you have coilovers doesnt mean it'll handle at all.
