how to refurb steelies

hi all,
cant affords alloys right now so for the meanwhile i think i will stick with the steelies. Looking a little grubby but not too bad. Ive seen some nice steelies on here after refurbs, how have people gone about doing it and what products (paint ect) give the best results. My clio is white so i think painting them black will be the best option.

cheers

  Whichever has fuel
If it was me, i'd just give them a bloody good clean with a really strong cleaner (fairy power sparay, brick acid etc) then rub them down with some fine wet and dry, then paint them satin black using rattle cans from Halfords.

All those bits should cost you no more than £15 to do all four.

crackin stuff :approve: sounds along the lines of what i had in mind, just wanted peoples opinions, ill head down to halfords 2moro after college, is there a special kind of paint i need to use? and i dont want them all weird and shiny so i doubt laquer is any gd.

  a thirsty one
i refurb my track steelies, thy were mint but sanded them down grey parimer then balck spray paint i used gloss, then few coats laquer.

problem is when having tyres put on the paint/laquer not thick enough and around the wheel bolts it cracks. maybe powdercoat for a good durable finish?
