How to remove cruise control buttons?

  2007 Megane R26
Hi, I'm trying to fit my new Snappy steering wheel but I can't get the cruise control buttons out of the old one. There are three plastic posts holding them in (see pic) how do I remove these?
I've tried twisting but they won't budge.

OK, but I can't seem to get the cruise up/down buttons out with it fitted. I've undone the torx bolt but it won't budge.

The horn frame work is wedged about 2cm deep in to the foam part of the steering wheel. There are about 3-4 barbed prongs, they can be pulled/prised out carefully with a long screwdriver.
The cruise buttons have 2 screws hidden underneath it so it may be possible to remove without taking horn frame off but I cant remember tbh!
