How to remove exterior door handles?

Stripping down the clio for respray and all I have left to get off is the exterior door handles.

I’ve removed the two nuts from the inside but I can’t work out how it is held onto the threaded bar which operates the lock.

Any heads up on this before I break something?

I’ve also got to remove the key barrel so any advice on this aswell as may aswell do it while I’m in the door card.

I can confirm that does not work.
Not is it humanly possible to get hands in there.

Any other ideas? I’m about to rip it off.

Just pull the metal rod! It won’t break. The Clio pushes in
